Allegation of Misconduct

ALLEGATIONS OF MISCONDUCT

SBAMER takes all allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously. Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate submission or publication, citation manipulation, authorship disputes, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and manipulation of peer review.

Reporting an Allegation

Allegations may be submitted by anyone (readers, reviewers, editors, or authors) to editor.sbamer@dhsjournal.id. The report should include the article details and the evidence available. The identity of the person reporting will be kept confidential.

Handling Procedure

  1. The editor acknowledges the report and makes an initial assessment of the evidence.
  2. The authors are informed of the allegation and given the opportunity to respond.
  3. The editor, with members of the editorial board, investigates the case following the relevant COPE flowcharts.
  4. If necessary, the authors’ institution or funder is contacted.
  5. A decision is made and communicated to all parties.

Possible Actions

  • rejection of the manuscript (if not yet published);
  • publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction (if already published);
  • a ban on submissions from the authors for a certain period;
  • notification to the authors’ institution.
