Authorship Criteria

AUTHORSHIP CRITERIA

SBAMER follows the authorship criteria recommended by COPE and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). A person should be listed as an author only if he or she meets all of the following:

  1. made a substantial contribution to the idea or design of the study, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of data;
  2. drafted the manuscript or revised it critically for important intellectual content;
  3. approved the final version to be published; and
  4. agrees to be accountable for all aspects of the work.

Other Contributors

People who contributed but do not meet these criteria (for example, providing data access, technical help, language editing, or general supervision) should be thanked in the Acknowledgements.

Author Contributions and Corresponding Author

  • Each manuscript must include an Author Contributions statement describing the role of each author.
  • One author must be named as the corresponding author, who communicates with the journal on behalf of all authors.
  • The order of authors should be agreed by all authors before submission. Changes to the author list after submission require a written request signed by all authors and approval from the editor.

Artificial Intelligence

AI tools, including large language models, cannot be listed as authors. Any use of AI must be disclosed as described in the Plagiarism Check & AI Policy.
