JOURNAL HISTORY

Small Business Accounting Management and Entrepreneurship Review (SBAMER) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by Kantor Jasa Akuntansi IWW Utama (Institute for Digital Humanities and Social Science Journal), Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The journal was established to provide a publication outlet for research in accounting, management, business, and entrepreneurship that focuses on small businesses and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Milestones

  • 2021 – SBAMER published its first issue, Volume 1, and was registered with the online ISSN 2775-9261.
  • 2021–present – The journal has been published consistently twice a year, in February and August.
  • Every published article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) with the prefix 10.61656 through Crossref.
  • All issues are preserved through the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS archiving systems provided by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP).
  • October 2026 – The journal website experienced a security breach caused by unauthorised activities related to online gambling. The editorial team immediately migrated the journal to a more secure hosting environment and upgraded the platform to Open Journal Systems (OJS) version 3.5.0.5. Previously published issues and articles are being restored, verified, and republished with the same DOIs, so that publication records, citations, and indexing information remain unchanged. See the announcement.
  • 2026 – SBAMER articles have been cited in Scopus-indexed publications. See SBAMER Articles Cited in Scopus.

Development

Since its first issue, SBAMER has continuously improved its editorial management, including strengthening the double-blind peer-review process, adopting publication ethics based on COPE guidelines, introducing a policy on the use of artificial intelligence, and expanding its editorial board and reviewers from national and international institutions. Following the 2026 security incident, the journal moved to a more secure hosting environment to protect its content and users.
